Life in the Red Dot with Pride for the Red White & Blue

So one thing that kept us busy in the last month was World Cup fever. One great thing about living in a place with so many expats is that there are fans for EVERY country- so every game is fun. While Ben was here we braved the US v. England game at a local bar, which was showing at the very reasonable hour of 2:30am. I am proud (and shocked!) to say I made it the whole time. We were expectedly out numbered by the Brit expat contingency (former colony and what not) but what we lacked in numbers we made up for in spirit. At one point after the tying goal Ben and I stood on our chairs and screamed "Its called Soccer" to all of our British buddies. It. was. epic.

Dave's limited photography skills our our US pride- its tricky not to put your finger in front of the flash. Now you know why pictures of me are limited.

Beer is expensive here- so we decided that it made a lot more sense to con our waitress in to selling us bottle service rum. Didn't make it much easier to stay awake until 5am.

Another night we watched games at the Wave House in Sentosa- which is aptly named for the giant artificial wave in the background here under the giant screen.

Little soccer, little surfing. Pretty cool.

This is what happens after you spent multiple nights watching football at ungodly hours.
