More Christmas in Singapore

Singapore takes Christmas seriously. Really seriously. It seems like everywhere we go Christmas spirit is exploding.
Gigantic Tree made of CDs

Now don't get be wrong, I like Christmas. A lot. Christmas decorations were always a big deal in my family. But they are taking deck-the-halls to a whole new level in this country. I think the absurdity is enhanced by the fact that its sweltering hot outside and it seems strange to be taking pictures with Santa in a sundress.  But really, some of the decorations put US malls to shame.
We looked at some stores for trees today, but the cheapest tree we saw was nearly 200 dollars, so we will be going sans-tree this year and will look forward to seeing our family's lovely trees at home.
This tree is AWESOME. It snows on its self! Its a little hard to tell in the picture, but the upside-down umbrella at the bottom is full of little white fake snow, which is fed up the trunk of the tree and is shot out the top so it looks like its snowing. Amazing. What will they think of next.

More hot pink Christmas spirit in Tanglin and Orchard.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christ-mas......everywhere we go.....
